ION Biome Gut Support

ION*Gut is a liquid food supplement that goes beyond probiotics. It aims to be a gut-strengthening, brain-boosting mineral supplement which is sourced from 60-million-year-old soil that can naturally support microbiome balance. As it is soil derived, it’s naturally rich in a variety of humate substances, trace minerals, and amino acids.

The active ingredient, Terrahydrite®, is not bacteria, but rather a family of molecules made by bacteria. This ingredient seeks to support the integrity of tight junctions in the gut lining, even in the face of damage from toxins such as glyphosate.

What does ION*Gut aim to do and how?

ION*Gut is designed to increase the body’s production of beneficial enzymes via redox signalling (cellular communication). The enzymes help strengthen tight junction integrity at the gut lining, which protects the immune and neurologic systems and regulates the delivery of water and nutrients to the body.

The gut lining is a barrier, our first line of defence, working to protect our bloodstream (and the rest of our body) from toxic substances such as glyphosate, gluten, and other foreign particles. But just as importantly, it functions to allow the passage of beneficial nutrients.

Instead of feeding your microbiome with various bacterial strains, ION*Gut works via carbon-based redox signalling to maintain tight junction integrity in the epithelial layer of gut lining. ION*Gut primarily functions as a signal, not a nutrient. It provides a framework of communication for the gut bacteria, because of the ancient soil/bacteria carbon molecules it is derived from which, when stabilised, contain the same carbon-based redox signalling molecules produced by your own gut bacteria.

Adults:

As a maintenance dose, we recommend one teaspoon 3 times a day. It is best taken 30 minutes prior to meals, but you can take it immediately before, with or after a meal (or on an empty stomach). Use can increase to one tablespoon 3 times a day or as directed by your practitioner, although 3 teaspoons daily is adequate for most.

Sensitive Adult Usage:

There’s a subset of individuals that can experience symptoms of tiredness, headache, bloating/increased gas, or bowl changes when starting ION*Gut. If you feel you may be considered sensitive, we suggest a slower approach. Start with 3-5 drops of ION*Gut twice daily, increasing usage slowly, as tolerated, to get to recommended label usage.

ION*Gut does not require refrigeration.

Please note that as your body begins to strengthen the tight junctions in the gut wall, it is not uncommon to experience mild, temporary side effects such as constipation as full hydration is promoted. If this occurs, increase consumption of water and herbal teas. You may also opt for a slower approach (see “Sensitive Adults Usage” above).
